Address to Dominicans Resident in St. Maarten/St. Martin

On the occasion of our 38th Anniversary of Independence, I bring you warmest greetings from the Nature Isle of the Caribbean, our beloved Dominica which, with its towering volcanic peaks and rushing rivers and waterfalls has had its trying times, but has also experienced the outpouring of God's blessings, grace and mercy.

2015 Christmas Message

My fellow Citizens and Residents of Dominica,
Christmas is that time of year when we look forward to sharing greetings and best wishes with one another. It is also a time when we share special moments with family and friends. But most importantly Christmas is the period when we commemorate the birth of the Christ Child, Jesus, who was sent into this world in fulfillment of the scriptures to atone for our sins and transgressions so as to reconcile us with God our Creator.

2015 Independence Message

Theme: "Rebuilding Dominica Together"

Fellow Dominicans,
As we celebrate the thirty-seventh year of our attainment of Independence we need to focus our attention on those members of our community who have suffered loss of family members, homes and property in that awful Tropical Storm Erika which inundated us with 13 inches of rain in six (6) hours on 27th August, 2015.

In the midst of all this, we need also to give thanks to Almighty God for life, health and strength and for His abundant love and mercy which he has bestowed on our beloved Nation, recognizing that the impact of Tropical Storm Erika could have been more catastrophic still.
